1900-1958. He was born on Johnson Plantation in St. John Parish, the youngest of 12 children. He married Vallie Hernandez, 1935. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Anthony of Darrow church and a member of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Gonzales, Ascension Savings & Loan, and was the first stockholder of EATEL Telephone Co. Mr. Robert was instrumental in the birth of several local businesses, including; Purpera Lumber, Thomas Marine, Lamendola’s, and Tureau’s Grocery. He was a pioneer, philanthropist, entrepreneur, builder, and friend.
