A native of Bayou Goula, Louisiana, he first came to Ascension Parish in the late 1920’s to show movies with a portable projector at Bourque Hall in Gonzales on a weekly basis. In the mid 30’s he moved his family to Gonzales, first opening the Gonzales Theater, then the Pasqua Theater in 1939. Together, he and his wife Pearl, operated both theaters, which in a time before television were the focus of entertainment for the community.
