Cliff Neese, Sr.
Established Neese Industries in 1961 as a glove reconditioning business, re-coating industrial work gloves for industries in an eight state area. In 1971 he began making rainsuits for the petrochemical industry and in 1988 sold the industrial glove division to concentrate on the fast growing rainwear business. In 1989 the company began making uniform rainwear for the U.S. Postal Service. A second production facility was opened in Piedras Negras, Mexico in 1991 and a third location in Villa Union, Mexico in 2002. Today, 250 employees work in three locations to satisfy customers worldwide with rainwear, high visibility clothing and fire retardant work clothes.
He was a Paul Harris Fellow, charter member and 78-79 president of Gonzales Rotary, 1964 president of the Ascension Chamber of Commerce, 1969 president of the Gonzales Chamber of Commerce, Board Member of the Ascension Fund and the Bank of Gonzales. He served in the U.S. Air force during the Korean Conflict.
