Pearl "Peggy" Fields
In the 1970’s, Fields established the first home health agency in Baton Rouge, known today as Capitol Home Health. Later she opened the Ascension Heritage Center in Gonzales. In 1989, she founded Ascension College. She was organist for St. John the Evangelist church for 25 years, Ascension Hospital volunteer president, and Art Guild president. She was the recipent of the 1995 Research Advocate Award, the 1994 National Volunteer Service Citation from the National Arthritis Foundation, the 1993 Employer of the Year Award from the Baton Rouge Catholic Diocese Senior Employment Division, Businesswoman of the Year, and Outstanding Alumnus Award.
