Studio Art Quilt Associates, Inc. (SAQA) is an international nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote the art quilt through education, exhibitions, professional development, documentation, and publications. SAQA has over 34,000 members around the world, including artists, collectors, and arts professionals.
The Ascension Parish Library in Dutchtown will host The Evolution of Quilting: Exploring Traditional, Modern, and Art Quilts, which will be presented by local area SAQA members. Artists will discuss a brief history of traditional, modern, and art quilts and display their own designs created especially for this presentation. Join us on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 10:30 am for a discussion and display by talented fiber artists from our community.
Make connections and create machines with easy and swappable circuit boards! Explore circuitry safely with littleBits® and unleash your inner engineer! All littleBits® components must stay at the library for future programs, so feel free to bring a camera if you want to record all of the fun.
littleBits is scheduled in Galvez for Saturday, December 7, at 10:30 AM. This program is designed for children in grades 2 and above, younger children may need assistance from a parent or older sibling.
